Usage notes
- As always for the paal construction of a triliteral verb with second root letter ו or י, the feminine third-person singular past tense is traditionally pronounced with its emphasis on the first syllable, and the feminine singular present tense with its emphasis on the second; in colloquial use, though, both are pronounced with emphasis on the first syllable.
