اَللّٰهُ أَعْلَم • (allāhu ʾaʿlam)
- God knows best; God only knows; a traditional expression used to express uncertainty about a question, or doubt about the correctness of a piece of information
- قِيلَ إِنَّ عَدَدَهُمْ كَانَ عِشْرِينَ رَجُلًا وَقِيلَ خَمْسَينَ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.
- Qīla ʾinna ʿadadahum kāna ʿišrīna rajulan wa-qīla ḵamsīna wa-llāhu ʾaʿlam[u].
- It has been said that their number was twenty men, and it has been said fifty, but God knows best.
