Adverb
صار (ṣar, ṣār)
- (false verb) Used with ل (-l-) + personal suffix to express what is roughly equivalent to the English present perfect tense.
- صارلك سنات بتحبها
- Ṣar-lak snīn bitḥibbā.
- You’ve loved her for years.
- صارلي تلات إيام ما شفته
- Ṣar-lī tlāt ʾīyām mā šiftū.
- I haven’t seen him in three days.

Usage notes
- Sentences with ṣar-l- tend to have some adverbial of time in them. As can be seen from the examples, the construction can be followed by either a verbal or a nominal sentence. Verbs are typically in the present or present progressive in affirmative sentences, but in the past in negative ones.
