ภริยา • (pá-rí-yaa)

1. (formal) wife: married woman.
   • 2007, พระราชบัญญัติแก้ไขเพิ่มเติมประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ (ฉบับที่ ๑๖) พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๐:

     มาตรา ๕ ให้ยกเลิกความใน (๑) ของมาตรา ๑๕๑๖ แห่งประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ และให้ใช้ความต่อไปนี้แทน "(๑) สามีหรือภริยาอุปการะ เลี้ยงดู หรือยกย่องผู้อื่นฉันภริยาหรือสามี เป็นชู้หรือมีชู้ หรือร่วมประเวณีกับผู้อื่นเป็นอาจิณ อีกฝ่ายหนึ่งฟ้องหย่าได้"

     mâat-dtraa hâa hâi yók-lə̂ək kwaam nai à-nú-mâat-dtraa nʉ̀ng kɔ̌ɔng mâat-dtraa nʉ̀ng pan hâa rɔ́ɔi sìp-hòk hɛ̀ng bprà-muuan-gòt-mǎai-pɛ̂ng-lɛ́-paa-nít lɛ́ hâi chái kwaam dtɔ̀ɔ-bpai-níi tɛɛn "à-nú-mâat-dtraa nʉ̀ng sǎa-mii rʉ̌ʉ pá-rí-yaa ùp-bpà-gaa-rá líiang-duu rʉ̌ʉ yók-yɔ̂ng pûu ʉ̀ʉn chǎn pá-rí-yaa rʉ̌ʉ sǎa-mii bpen-chúu rʉ̌ʉ mii-chúu rʉ̌ʉ rûuam-bprà-wee-nii gàp pûu ʉ̀ʉn bpen-aa-jin ìik fàai nʉ̀ng fɔ́ɔng yàa dâai"

     Section 5 The provision of (1) of Section 1516 of the Civil and Commercial Code shall be repealed and replaced by the following: "(1) When either the husband or wife supports, maintains, or honours another person as his own wife or her own husband, when he engages in adultery or she commits adultery, or when either of them habitually has intercourse with another person, the other may enter a claim for divorce."

   • 1976, พระราชบัญญัติให้ใช้บทบัญญัติบรรพ ๕ แห่งประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ที่ได้ตรวจชำระใหม่ พ.ศ. ๒๕๑๙:

     มาตรา ๑๔๖๕ ถ้าสามีภริยามิได้ทำสัญญากันไว้ในเรื่องทรัพย์สินเป็นพิเศษก่อนสมรส ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสามีภริยาในเรื่องทรัพย์สินนั้นให้บังคับตามบทบัญญัติในหมวดนี้

     Section 1465 If the husband and wife have, prior to their marriage, not adopted any special agreement regarding their property, the relationship between the husband and wife in relation to their property shall be governed by the provisions of the present Chapter.
