สัปดาห์
Thai
Etymology
From Sanskrit सप्ताह (saptāha, “week; sacrificial period lasting seven days”, literally “seven days”), from सप्त (sapta, “seven”) + अह (aha, “day”), equivalent to สัปด + อห์.
Cognate with Old Khmer saptāha (“week; period of seven days”); Modern Khmer សប្តាហៈ (sapptaʾ).
Compare Pali sattāha (“hebdomad; week”), from which Thai สัตตาหะ and Khmer សត្តាហៈ (sɑɑttaahaʾ) were derived.
