Etymology
From Pali adhikamāsa (“leap month”), from adhika (“extraordinary; high; more; redundant; superior; etc”) + māsa (“month”); or from Sanskrit अधिकमास (adhikamāsa, “idem”), from अधिक (adhika, “idem”) + मास (māsa, “idem”); equivalent to Thai อธิก + มาส (mâat).
