ἕζομαι
Ancient Greek
Etymology
From Proto-Hellenic *heďďomai, from Proto-Indo-European *séd-ye-, from *sed-. Compare ἵζω (hízō, “set”). Cognate with Old English sittan (English sit), Old Norse sitja and Old High German sizzen.

- middle aorist εἱσάμην (with the sense ἱδρύω (“dedicate temples statues”)),
- middle future εἵσομαι,
- passive perfect εἷμαι
