うんち

Japanese

Etymology

From うん (un, the sound made when straining)[1] + (chi), a suffixing element of unclear derivation; possibly related to the directional nominalizer (chi) also seen in words like こっち (kocchi, this way, this direction), どっち (docchi, which way, which direction).
