Short for 地 (じ)蔵 (ぞう)菩薩 (ぼさつ) (Jizō Bosatsu), itself a calque of Sanskrit क्षितिगर्भ बोधिसत्त्व (Kṣitigarbha bodhisattva).[1][2]
