From a derivative of Sanskrit कृ (kṛ, “to do”), likely कृतं (kṛtaṃ) or कृते (kṛte). Dasa also suggests क (ka, diminutive suffix). Compare Maithili -কেৰ / केर (ker), Sylheti -ꠞ (-r), Bengali -র (-r), Hindustani کا / का (kā), Punjabi ਦਾ (dā).
