-iliardo

Esperanto

Suffix

-iliardo

  1. Used with a cardinal number to indicate numbers greater than a million. Specifically, it indicates the number 106x+3 (where x is the cardinal number), and it corresponds with similar usage in the German language.
    duiliardo - thousand billion (1015)
    triiliardo - thousand trillion (1021)

Usage notes

  • Only works with cardinal numbers two (du) and greater. For 109, see miliardo.
  • This suffix usage is proposed by the most recent version of the PIV, but is not considered official.
  • mil may be instead used with the -iliono suffix: mil duilionoj, mil triilionoj.
