-ime f (plural -imi)
- Used with adjectives to form nouns derived from them (meaning the quality or state of); can be compared to -ness
- Used to form collective nouns (e.g. țăran > țărănime), often indicating a multitude or totality of; can be compared roughly to -ry (class or group, collection of)
- Used with numerals to form nouns meaning an (equal) part of or fraction, similar to -th in English opt (“eight”) + -ime → optime (“eighth”)
