Suffix

-ime f (plural -imi)

  1. Used with adjectives to form nouns derived from them (meaning the quality or state of); can be compared to -ness
  2. Used to form collective nouns (e.g. țăran > țărănime), often indicating a multitude or totality of; can be compared roughly to -ry (class or group, collection of)
  3. Used with numerals to form nouns meaning an (equal) part of or fraction, similar to -th in English opt (eight) + -imeoptime (eighth)
