Kümmeltürke
German
Etymology
From Kümmel (“caraway”) + Türke (“Turk”). The term was first coined in the 18th century to refer to students from Kümmeltürkei, an area so named for its caraway production, but in modern times is used exclusively in a transferred sense as a slur, sometimes explained as being due to Turks smelling like caraway or cumin.
