Ashokan Prakrit
Alternative forms
- *𑀓𑀼𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀻 f (*kuttī, “female dog”)
Etymology
Possibly from Proto-Indo-Aryan *kúttas, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *kúttas (compare Proto-Iranian *kútah), possibly of onomatopoeic origin, which could imply a Wanderwort instead of inheritance from Proto-Indo-Iranian.
