Usage notes

The direct object of alceli is the thing oriented by the subject in a particular direction, while the direct object of celi is the thing toward which it is oriented—the ultimate goal of the action. Compare:

  • alceli fotilon “to aim a camera”
  • celi anason “to aim at a duck”
  • alceli fotilon al anaso “to aim a camera at a duck”
