forsener
Old French
Etymology
From for- (“out, from”) + sen (“sense, reason, mind”), from Frankish *sinn, *sinno (“sense, mind, judgement”), from Proto-Germanic *sinnaz (“sense, mind, wisdom, meaning”), from Proto-Indo-European *sent- (“to feel”). Compare Old French forsenede (“one who has lost his mind”). Cognate with German Sinn (“sense, meaning, mind”), Dutch zin (“sense, desire”). Related to French asséner. More at sense.
