Etymology
From Middle English isykle, isikel, equivalent to ice + ickle. Cognate with German Low German Iesjökel, dialectal Danish jisegel (“icicle”), Norwegian isjukel (“icicle”) and Elfdalian aisikkel. More at ice, ickle.
