kajaks
See also: Kajaks
Latvian
Etymology
Apparently borrowed from Estonian kajakas (“seagull”), dialectal kajak, but, given Latvian kaija (“seagull”), and since ak is a formative element often found in Indo-European animal names, Latvian kajaks may have been the original word and Estonian kajakas the borrowing.[1]
