From Proto-Finnic [Term?], possibly the same root as in kilama (“to scream in a high-pitched voice”), kile (“a type of food made out of oatmeal”), or kala (“fish”). Cognate to Finnish kilohaili and possibly Livvi kiloi, kilu.
