Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *(a)lōu-m- '(threshing-, malting-)floor', with enlargement in -mo- or -mn/men-. Cognate to Ancient Greek ἀλωή (alōḗ, “(threshing-)floor”), Old Norse lófi (“(threshing-)floor”), Old High German lam (“lame”)[1].
