ooit
Dutch
Etymology
From Middle Dutch oit. The further etymology is not clear, as there are no parallels in other languages. Possibly a combination of Old Dutch io and *jit (cognate with German jetzt Old English ġiet > Modern English yet), although this leaves the initial o- unexplained.
Pronunciation
- Rhymes: -oːi̯t
- IPA(key): /oːi̯t/
