From Turkish rakı, from Arabic عَرَقِيّ (ʿaraqiyy, “of liquor”), from عَرَق (ʿaraq, “arrack, arak”), literally, “condensate,” which refers to an ouzo-like liqueur made of raisins. Compare Albanian raki.
