From Proto-Albanian *ϑi)ϑer-, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱiḱer- 'pea(s)'. Cognate to Ancient Greek κριός (kriós, “chick-pea”) and Old Armenian սիսեռն (siseṙn, “chick-pea”)[1].
