This ad suggests that people should smoke cigarettes to be cool, popular, glamorous, charming, tough, independent, strong, healthy looking, and energetic.

Um, what about ashtray breath, yellow teeth, gross cough, and lung cancer?

Unreal Ideals

We know some ads and other media makes girls feel like they should be super-skinny. Boys get this stuff, too!

Media like videogames with heroes who are more muscular than any real guy may be one reason why guys get stressed about the way they look.

Misleading Messages

You don't have to be a nutrition expert to know that candy isn't a healthy way to refuel after serious physical exercise.

But advertisers are counting on Johnny Slamm Dunk's endorsement to convince you that's exactly what he eats. Does he really? If he does, should you? Don't think so.
