Vaginal Cancer Epidemiology
- 1,312 new cases were diagnosed in 2014 (rate = 0.7 per 100,000 women).
- 430 deaths in 2014 (rate = 0.2 per 100,000 women).
Vulvar Cancer Epidemiology
- 5,133 new cases were diagnosed in 2014 (rate = 2.6 per 100,000 women).
- 1,085 deaths in 2014 (rate = 0.5 per 100,000 women).
Compared to other cancers, vaginal and vulvar cancers are relatively rare. The most common gynecologic cancer is uterine, followed by ovarian and cervical.
