About PPEO Evaluation Unit

The Evaluation Unit in CDC’s Program Performance and Evaluation Office (PPEO)

• sets standards and expectations for agency-wide evaluation;
• delivers tools, technical assistance and resources to enhance evaluation efforts; and
• provides support for evaluation capacity-building across CDC programs.

The Evaluation Unit provides evaluation consultations and trainings as well as strategic planning and meeting facilitation.

The group also manages the CDC Evaluation Fellowship Program.

PPEO’s Evaluation Unit leadership also represents the agency in federal evaluation efforts including work with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE) and the HHS Administration for Children and Families Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation.
