Volunteer Opportunities Around the World
The STOP Program
To meet the target date of polio eradication, the global partners are looking for ways to supplement human resources at the field level. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is therefore seeking short-term, highly qualified, health professionals to join our Stop Transmission of Polio (STOP) teams for 5½ month non-salaried field assignments (travel and per diem for food and lodging provided.) Learn more about STOP.
The Peace Corps
The Peace Corps offers a unique experience to make a difference around the world and bring the benefits of that experience back home. There are a wide variety of volunteer positions to fill throughout the world, including health volunteers. In addition, the Global Health Service Partnership sends trained physician educators and nurse educators overseas to improve clinical education, expand the base of physician and nursing educators, and build healthcare capacity in countries that face critical shortages of healthcare providers.
