Global Disease Detection (GDD) Program

Early warning for international outbreaks is critical. We build capacity to detect, identify and contain emerging infectious diseases through ten state-of-the-art Global Disease Detection Centers in different regions of the world. We respond to high-profile public health events such as Ebola, polio eradication, MERS-CoV, cholera, and Nipah virus, while increasing our engagement in the agency’s global health security activities.
