QuickStats: Percentage* of Children Aged <18 Years with Current
Asthma, by Race/Ethnicity and Sex --- United States, 2001--2004
* Based on household interviews of a sample of the noninstitutionalized U.S. civilian population.
The percentage of children who currently have asthma was stable from 2001 to 2004 for black non-Hispanic girls and
white non-Hispanic boys and girls. Percentages for black non-Hispanic boys were higher than for the other populations
and continued to increase during this period.
