Brief summaries were presented of the projects and programs currently supported by NIOSH. The research and demonstration grants were classified according to the following subject areas: occupational lung diseases, musculoskeletal injuries, occupational cancers, traumatic injuries, cardiovascular diseases, disorders of reproduction, neurotoxic disorders, noise induced hearing loss, dermatologic conditions, psychological disorders, control techniques, respirator research, and additional areas of special interest. Each summary provided the title of the project, the name and address of the principal investigator, the grant number, the NIOSH program area, the start and end dates, current and cumulative funding levels, a description of the importance of the work to occupational safety and health, the objectives of the study, the methods used, significant findings, and a listing of the publications resulting from the research.
