PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on burning producing toxic fumes ( nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides ).

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on dust forming.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the liver , resulting in tissue lesions . This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans.

PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES

Melting point: 113-116°C
Solubility in water:
good
Flash point: see Notes
Octanol/water partition coefficient as log Pow: -0.46/-0.36

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

N O T E S

The substance is combustible but no flash point is available in literature. Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is suggested. Card has been partly updated in October 2005. See section EU classification.
