EXPOSURE
AVOID EXPOSURE OF ADOLESCENTS AND CHILDREN!

•INHALATION Dizziness. Sweating. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Unconsciousness. Vomiting. Pupillary constriction, muscle cramp, excessive salivation.
Avoid inhalation of fine dust and mist. Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. (Further see Inhalation).
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal cramps. Diarrhoea. Nausea. Vomiting. Pupillary constriction, muscle cramps, excessive salivation.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Refer for medical attention.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
WHITE CRYSTALS.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic and corrosive fumes including hydrogen chloride , nitrogen oxides and phosphorus oxides Reacts with strong acids strong bases .

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 5 mg/m3 as TWA; A4 (not classifiable as a human carcinogen); BEI issued; (ACGIH 2004).
OSHA PEL: none
NIOSH REL: TWA 5 mg/m3 ST 20 mg/m3
NIOSH IDLH: N.D. See: IDLH INDEX

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract . The substance may cause effects on the nervous system , resulting in convulsions and respiratory failure . Cholinesterase inhibitor. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:

PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES

Melting point (decomposes): 60-65°C
Relative density (water = 1): 1.5
Solubility in water, g/100 ml: none
Vapour pressure, Pa at 25°C: 0.106

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. This substance does enter the environment under normal use. Great care, however, should be given to avoid any additional release, e.g. through inappropriate disposal.

N O T E S

Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is suggested. Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties. Do NOT take working clothes home. Commercial product is a yellow oil. Ruelene is a trade name. Card has been partly updated in April 2005. See sections Occupational Exposure Limits, Emergency Response.
