FIRE Combustible.
NO open flames. NO contact with oxidants.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion on contact with oxidants.


EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

•INHALATION Headache. Nausea. Vomiting.
Ventilation (not if powder), local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness. Pain.
Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety goggles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Numbness of tongue and lips. Excitation. Convulsions. Tetanic paralysis. Muscular fibrillation. Death from respiratory failure.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Refer for medical attention.

Ventilation. Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Personal protection: A/P2 filter respirator for organic vapour and harmful dust.
Separated from strong oxidants, food and feedstuffs . Well closed. Provision to contain effluent from fire extinguishing.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

The substance decomposes on heating producing smoke and irritating fumes . Reacts with strong oxidants causing fire and explosion hazard.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract . The substance may cause effects on the nervous system .

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Repeated or prolonged inhalation exposure may cause asthma.

DATA

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. This substance may be hazardous in the environment; special attention should be given to honey bees.

N O T E S

Pyrethrum is a mixture of pyrethrin I and II, cinerin I and II, and jasmolin I and II. Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties. Do NOT take working clothes home. Anyone who has shown symptoms of asthma due to this substance should avoid all further contact. The symptoms of asthma often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate inhalation therapy by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered.
