Charge to Peer Reviewers:
Review of NIOSH Document: NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation Report: HETA #2003-0206 - Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
This review is intended to be a technical (scientific) review of this HHEreport. The purpose of this external peer review is to ensure that the conclusions and recommendations of the draft report are consistent with the findings from our evaluation and the existing body of scientific evidence. We are asking you to provide critical and constructive comments as appropriate so that the relevance and usefulness of this HHEreport can be maximized. I would like to draw your attention to one primary recommendation in the draft report which calls for limited radiation monitoring of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) baggage screeners. This important issue has both scientific and policy implications. Therefore, we would like feedback from the peer reviewers on the need for more routine monitoring for these workers. I would appreciate it if your comments are returned to me no later than July 20, 2007.
