Maximum Lifetime Body Mass Index and Mortality in Mexican American Adults: the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey III (1988–1994) and NHANES 1999–2010

PEER REVIEWED

Figure. A consort diagram describes the flow of NHANES participants selected for inclusion in this study of maximum lifetime body mass index and all-cause and cause-specific mortality in Mexican American adults. We identified 10,641 Mexican American participants who participated in the NHANES III and NHANES 1999–2010 who were aged 20 years or older at the time of assessment. We excluded 303 pregnant women, 139 missing measured height or weight, and 3,957 missing self-reported maximum lifetime body mass index. This left a sample of 6,242 eligible Mexican Americans for analysis.
