MMWR Introduction
The Friday, May 25, 2007, issue of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) recognizes World No Tobacco Day, an annual event sponsored by the World Health Organization to help raise public awareness of the dangers of tobacco use. The MMWR issue also contains articles entitled Exposure to Secondhand Smoke Among Students Aged 13–15 Years—Worldwide, 2000–2007 and State–Specific Prevalence of Smoke-Free Home Rules—United States, 1992–2003.
This year World No Tobacco Day focuses on smoke-free environments. Additional information about World No Tobacco Day is available from the World Health Organization.
