Help: Explore by Location

The Explore by Location page allows you to select a location and view GTSSData for the selected location.

You can select up to 8 indicators to display on a page. To view GTSSData on this page, select a WHO Region, Country, Survey Site, Population (Survey), Topic, and Year from the dropdown lists and click GO. The system displays the data in 1 to 8 small panels. When viewing data, you can choose to view one year of data or all available years, stratify data by age, gender, or race/ethnicity, and view the data I graph or tabular format.

1. Use this section to select a combination of options for viewing data. After selecting options, click GO. 2. Use this section to hide or show footnotes, save page as PDF, and view the data for all available locations. 3. Click here to access the pop-up, where you can change the indicators displayed up to a maximum of 8 out of the number of available indicators. 4. Click here to save the panel as PDF or download the data in CSV format. 5. Click an icon to change the view type--chart or table. 6. Use this section to further refine the options for viewing the data.

1. Use this section to view policies and procedures for the survey displayed. All available years for each resource is listed for the survey displayed. 2. This section displays the Notes, Measure Definitions, and Data Source for the survey displayed. 3. This section provides reference information for the information displayed on the page. 4. This section contains links to the Survey Resources, Share GTSS, and the Help & Glossary that are available within the GTSS site. When you click these links, the system takes you to your selection.

 

Viewing a chart

You can view data in a bar chart format by clicking the Chart icon next to the Table icon.

 

1. Hover the mouse on a data point to view more data information. 2. The chart displays the stratification labels without data bars, when no data is available due to Insufficient Sample Size. 3. The legend displays on multi-stratification data.  It explains the colors displayed in the chart for the second stratification level.

Viewing data in table format

You can view data in table format by clicking the Table icon next to the Chart icon.

 

The symbol for Insufficient Sample Size displays in the table but not in the chart.

 

1. By default, the system displays the first 8 indicators. The maximum number of indicators you can display on the page at one time is 8.  This pop-up is used to change the indicators displayed by checking and unchecking the indicator check box.

Footnotes/Data Source

The Footnotes and Data Source section at the bottom of the data display area provides more information for the content displayed in the panel. This section explains the symbols displayed on the page, and lists the data source. To hide this section, click the Hide Footnotes link, to display it again, click the Show Footnotes link.

Measure Definitions

The Measure Definitions section provides a description for the measures that are used on the page.

Suggested Citation

The Suggested Citation section provides reference information for the information displayed on the page.

Related Links

The Related Links section contains links to other sites on the Web. When you click these links, the system takes you to the related sites. These sites are not contained within the GTSSData system.
