Understandably, staying clean may not be your top worry, but try to take advantage of any opportunity to shower or wash up. It can help your mental health while also preventing infection or illness.

Showering and Washing Your Body

    Use the showers at a shelter when you find yourself staying at one. Most shelters do have shower facilities for their residents. Whether you’re staying somewhere for a single night or for a longer period of time, take advantage of that shower every day if possible.[1]
    • Some facilities have specific times when you can shower, so make sure to check out the rules so you don’t miss your opportunity.

Taking care of your dental health is a good way to prevent cavities or gum disease, and it’ll also help you feel a little more confident and clean on a daily basis.
