The event's programs was revealed one day before its start, as customary,[2] though it is entirely possible to predict some of the event's titles based on the films' premiere status shared by other festivals, such as the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival. The marketing material for Andrew Haigh's All of Us Strangers also shared its place on the selection a few days before officially confirmed by the festival's line-up.

Filmmakers Yorgos Lanthimos, Alice Rohrwacher and Wim Wenders were this year's recipients of the Telluride Film Festival Silver Medallion, while Martin Scorsese's The Film Foundation was the winner of the Special Medallion.
