After the A47 was downgraded, the section of A51 beyond Kingsbury was downgraded to the B4098 which ran as far as Coundon on the edge of Coventry. The remaining part of the former A423 was renumbered A4170 into Coventry until the 1980s when the B4098 was extended to Coventry City Centre. |
