Bakshaganj Union

Bakshaganj Union is a union, the smallest administrative body of Bangladesh, located in Nangalkot Upazila, History added by Md jabed Hossain. Box-gonj Union was earlier a part of Satbaria Union Parishad. The Box-gonj region was named after the then Jagirdar, Bux Ali Bhuiya, a member of the Baro Bhuiyan sub-clan. This Box-gonj was once one of the most important places in Homanabad Pargana. Later it was included in the Satbaria Union Board till the War of Independence. At that time, Satbaria (No. 16) was under Chauddagram police station. This union board was formed in 1919. The first president was the then talukdar Manohar Ali Bhuiyan, a resident of Ashtagram Maniganga, popularly known as Chaudhary Miya. Then Mubarak Ullah Bhuiyan, Atu Mia Master, Mofizur Rahman Saheb, Siddique Mazumder performed the duties of this president. After independence, Boxgonj Union separated from Satbaria and expressed itself as an independent union. Nazir Ahmed Bhuiyan served as its first chairman.
