Borran-e Sofla

Borran-e Sofla (Persian: بران سفلی, also Romanized as Borrān-e Soflá; also known as Borrān-e Pā'īn)[3] is a village in Borran Rural District of Borran District, Aslan Duz County, Ardabil province, Iran. It is the capital of the rural district. The village was formerly in Qeshlaq-e Gharbi Rural District of Aslan Duz District, Parsabad County, before Aslan Duz became a county.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 649 in 121 households, when it was in Parsabad County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 560 people in 144 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 617 people in 194 households.[2]

In 2017, Aslan Duz District was separated from Parsabad County, elevated to the status of a county with the city of Aslan Duz as its capital, and divided into two districts (Central and Borran Districts) of two rural districts each.[4]
