Broad Front for Mexico

The Broad Front for Mexico (Spanish: Frente Amplio por México) is a political alliance formed by three Mexican political parties: the National Action Party (PAN), the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).[2]

History

Predecessors

Va por México was an electoral coalition made up of the National Action Party (PAN), Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) that competed in the 2021 general and 2022-2023 state elections.[3]

Creation

The Broad Front for Mexico was announced at a joint press conference by party leaders on 26 June 2023.[4] The front was formalized with the National Electoral Institute on 9 July 2023.[5]

On 30 August 2023, the Broad Front for Mexico chose Senator Xóchitl Gálvez as its candidate for president in the 2024 general election.[6]
