Central District (Evaz County)

The Central District of Evaz County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان اوز) is in Fars province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Evaz.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, the region's population (as a part of the former Evaz District of Larestan County) was 20,235 in 4,343 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 29,365 people in 6,500 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, there were 25,870 inhabitants in 6,857 households.[2]

In July 2018, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Evaz County and divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Evaz as its capital.[3] The village of Kureh was elevated to the status of a city within the newly established Bid Shahr District.[6]
