The Central District of Gomishan County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان گمیشان) is in Golestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Gomishan.

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as a part of the former Gomishan District of Torkaman County) was 29,289 in 5,888 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 32,547 people in 7,527 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Gomishan County.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 34,751 inhabitants in 9,448 households.[2]
