Central District (Hoveyzeh County)

The Central District of Hoveyzeh County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان هویزه) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Hoveyzeh.[3]

At the National Census in 2006, its population (as part of the former Hoveyzeh District of Dasht-e Azadegan County) was 22,523 in 4,082 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 25,252 people in 5,727 households,[5] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Hoveyzeh County.[3] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 28,826 inhabitants in 7,137 households.[2]
