Ushkonyr
Ushkonyr (Kazakh: Үшқоңыр, Üşqoñyr), formerly known as Shamalgan (Kazakh: Шамалған, Şamalğan) or Chemolgan (Russian: Чемолган), is a rural community near Almaty in Kazakhstan. It is notable as the birthplace of former Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev.[1]
