Newville is an unincorporated community in Glenn County, California.[1] It is located 18 miles (29 km) west of Orland,[2] at an elevation of 623 feet (190 m).[1]

A post office operated at Newville from 1868 to 1918.[2]

Newville was settled by cattle ranchers in the 1850s, and at one time had a service station, hotel, and several businesses. Most of the town was destroyed by fire on July 22, 1929.[3] The last of Newville's original buildings was demolished in 1932.[4]
