Posht Tang Rural District

Posht Tang Rural District (Persian: دهستان پشت تنگ) is in Dasht-e Zahab District of Sarpol-e Zahab County, Kermanshah province, Iran.[3] Its capital is the village of Bozmirabad.

At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the Central District) was 6,476 in 1,176 households.[4] There were 6,474 inhabitants in 1,427 households at the following census of 2011.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 5,582 in 1,321 households. The largest of its 39 villages was Bozmirabad, with 1,111 people.[2]

After the 2016 census, Dasht-e Zahab, Jeygaran, Posht Tang, and Sarqaleh Rural Districts were separated from the Central District to form the new Dasht-e Zahab District. In addition, the villages of Kuik-e Azizi Amin, Kuik-e Hasan, Kuik-e Mahmud, and Kuik-e Majid merged to form the village of Kuik, which became the capital of the new district.[3]
