Ramkan

Ramkan (Persian: رمكان, also Romanized as Ramkān and Ramakān)[3] is a city in the Central District of Qeshm County, Hormozgan province, Iran. Ramkan suffered heavily in the 2005 Qeshm earthquake.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,385 in 672 households, when it was a village in Ramkan Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 3,607 people in 823 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,473 people in 1,135 households.[2]

After the census, the village of Ramkan was elevated to the status of a city.[7]
